Patient Testimonials – 2

ROBYN VALENCIA

Hi my name is Robyn. I would like to thank Dr. Eslami and his staff for giving me my life back. I had my surgery in March 2011 with a starting weight of 322 pounds. Since my surgery I have lost over 150 pounds. Having Gastric Bypass Surgery was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I thought about having surgery about 10 years ago and was not mentally prepared and couldn’t find a surgeon I connected with. Dr. Eslami is an awesome surgeon. Right from the start he made me feel comfortable and he is extremely knowledgeable. There are so many things I am able to do now like cross my legs, get on the floor and play with my son, lift weights and go zip lining. I even compete in 5K runs now. I continue to attend monthly support meetings through Dr. Eslami’s office and feel they are very beneficial for my ongoing success. Thank you Dr. Eslami you have given me my life back. I would also like to give a special thanks to Lynette and Rondi, thank you so much for all of your help and support throughout my weight loss journey.

LORI THOMAS

I had Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass on June 20, 2012 and I’ve lost 112 pounds. I pinch myself every day because I can’t believe this is real. This surgery has given me the confidence to live a healthy life. I used to have high blood pressure, sleep apnea and my blood sugar level was borderline diabetic. I would wake up sore and tired. I now have endless energy and look forward to going to the gym. I no longer use my C Pap machine and am no longer on any medication for high blood pressure. If you follow Dr. Eslami’s advice, you too can change your life…in less than a year.

TERRI L. FITTRO

Dr. Eslami gave me life back! It is like being reborn. On the day of surgery, I was 299 lbs and am now 167 lbs. I have lost 132 lbs…WOW.

I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy procedure on 12/21/11 and today 02/21/13 I feel like I am 20 again! Dr. Eslami is truly the BEST in this field. I will forever be thankful for being referred to Dr. Eslami.

The pictures speak volumes. prior to surgery I had high blood pressure, high everything, I also needed foot surgery, now all is good and I no longer take the mass quantity of prescription medication, that ultimately, due to obesity caused the need for these medications but because I decided to proceed with Bariatric Surgery I am medication free.

Laparoscopic Surgery Part – 2

Laparoscopy is commonly performed procedure to Investigate and some key hole surgeries on abdominal and pelvic organs.

Laparoscopy is direct visualization of the abdominal cavity and intra-abdominal organs by using a laparoscopy. The laparoscope is a long thin instrument with a light source at its tip, to light up the inside of the abdomen or pelvis. Fibreoptic fibres carry images from a lens, also at the tip of the instrument, to a video monitor, which the surgeon and other theatre staff can view in real time.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is put into the abdomen through a special needle that is inserted just above the navel. This gas helps to separate the organs inside the abdominal cavity, making it easier for the physician to see the the intra-abdominal organs during laparoscopy. The gas is removed at the end of the procedure.

LAPAROSCOPIC SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY

Sleeve Gastrectomy (Tube Gastrectomy) procedure involves removing the lateral 2/3rds of the stomach with a stapling device. It can be done laparoscopically ( keyhole surgery) but is not reversible. It basically leaves a stomach tube instead of a stomach sack.

LAPAROSCOPIC ADJUSTABLE GASTRIC BANDING

In Adjustable gastric banding procedure, a hollow band made of special material is placed around the stomach near its upper end, creating a small pouch and a narrow passage into the larger remainder of the stomach. The band is then inflated with a salt solution. It can be tightened or loosened over time to change the size of the passage by increasing or decreasing the amount of salt solution.

LAPAROSCOPIC GASTRIC BYPASS

In Gastric Bypass procedure, a small stomach pouch is created to restrict food intake. Next, a Y-shaped section of the small intestine is attached to the pouch to allow food to bypass the lower stomach, the duodenum (the first segment of the small intestine), and the first portion of the jejunum (the second segment of the small intestine). This bypass reduces the absorption of nutrients and thereby reduces the calorie intake.

Patient Testimonial

RICK

My name is Rick and I’ve lost 144 pounds in 7 months. I’m very happy that I chose Dr. Eslami because he and his staff are very kind and professional. Because of them, it was a very positive experience, my only regret is that I didn’t have gastric bypass done sooner.

Before the surgery I had suffered a stroke at the age of 34, I had diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and back problems. I couldn’t do things that most people take for granted. I was always out of breath, sweating and tired. Just walking from the car into a store was a challenge, let alone walking through the store. I am now able to exercise, walk, run, and most importantly I am able to play with my two young girls.

I have no doubt that gastric bypass was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

TINA

Hi, My name is Tina and I had the Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Roux-en-y in July, 2010. I have lost 120 pounds. I had back and knee pain, and had problems moving around, now I have no back or knee pain, and if I sit on the floor, I can get up without major help (and making those horrible noises) Having the surgery was the best thing I’ve ever done and I would do it again in a heartbeat. What a difference!

ROBYN VALENCIA

I would like to thank Dr. Eslami and his staff for giving me my life back. I am a year and two months post op and have lost 140 pounds. Having gastric bypass surgery was the best decision I have ever made. I thought about having surgery about 10 years ago and was not metnally prepared and couldn’t find a surgeon I connected with. Dr. Eslami is an awesome surgeon. Right from the start he made me feel comfortable and his is very knowledgeable. There are so many things I am able to do now like cross my legs, get on the floor and play with my four year old, run, lift weights and go ziplining. I continue to attend monthly support group meetings through Dr. Eslami’s office and feel they are very benificial for my ongoing success. Thank you so much Dr. Eslami you have me my life back.

SHARI

The surgery has changed my life! I have lost just shy of 100 lbs in less than a year and feel terrific. People that have not seen me in a while don’t recognize me! This past winter, I could out ski anyone down the steepest of mountains…first across the finish line every time! I sleep better than I ever have and wake up feeling energized and exhilarated! Dr. Eslami and his staff were amazing and continue to show complete support throughout my wellness check-ups. I could not have imagined such fulfilling results. If you are over weight and have struggled like I did throughout the years…this is the surgery for you! You will love the new you and the only regret will be that you did not do the surgery sooner.

What our clients say about us..

April 2013, Dr. Eslami performed the Sleeve Gastrectomy. I have since lost 94 pounds within the past 8 months. I have so much energy and am able to enjoy many things I couldn’t do prior to having this surgery. Most importantly, I am becoming healthier! Dr. Eslami and his wonderful, dedicated staff are awesome and will guide you through the process with ease. I can’t imagine what life would be like for me without having had this surgery. My life has been renewed! – Megan

Dr. Eslami and his office saved my life. I was 100 plus pounds over weight and Type 2 diabetic. I had my monument and decided that WLS was the way I would have to go. I also knew better then most people because I am an RN. On May 1, 2013, I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy by the doctor and I have never looked back. I was 310 lbs at the start and as of Jan. 4, 2014 I hit my goal weight of 130 lbs lost. Dr. Eslami and his office have been with me every step of the way. The pre-operative and after care was the best. If you have a question they are right there to help. This surgery is not just a physical change its a mental and lifestyle change as well. I currently am off all medications for type 2 diabetes. My health is back and on top of it I look and feel better! I thank everyone at the office for their support and Dr. Eslami for his bedside manner and skill as a doctor. –
