Medical Weight Loss California Part – I

Megan: April 2013, Dr. Eslami performed the Sleeve Gastrectomy. I have since lost 94 pounds within the past 8 months. I have so much energy and am able to enjoy many things I couldn’t do prior to having this surgery. Most importantly, I am becoming healthier! Dr. Eslami and his wonderful, dedicated staff are awesome and will guide you through the process with ease. I can’t imagine what life would be like for me without having had this surgery. My life has been renewed!

Jennifer: I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy January 16, 2013. Prior to my surgery there was concern about whether surgery was possible due to abdominal scaring and adhesions I had from a birth defect. I appreciate DrEslami’s brutal honesty, even on the day of surgery, letting me know that even with all the tests and precautions he couldn’t promise I’d come out of surgery with what I wanted. In the end he was able to safely perform a sleeve.

So far I’ve lost over 65 pounds. I can’t say the road has been easy but the support from DrEslami and his staff is always there. Lynette is awesome with helping you navigate insurance and pre-operative stuff. Amanda is very accessible to answer questions. I even texted her while at the grocery store comparing yogurt for my pre-operative diet. I can not say enough about Rondi, the bariatric nurse. She’s a wealth of knowledge and a wonderful cheerleader. She even came to check in on me at the hospital. All of Dr. Eslami’s team are down to earth awesome people. Come to the classes and support group and you’ll get to know them even more.

Tavizon: Hi, my name is Isabel, Icame to Slim Life Solutions weighing 273 lbs and very unhappy, I am a cook at a correctional training center and so it was very challenging for me to lose weight even though I worked out I felt defeated, my sister informed me about bariatric surgery, and so here I am a year later & a 100 pounds lighter, and so very happy. Thank You so much Dr. Eslami and all the team at Slim Life Solutions.

Linda Reed: I was suffering from Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Today I have none of these problems due to bariatric surgery. Dr. Eslami carefully explained the procedure and gave me the confidence to get the bypass. He is very supportive post-surgery also so you can understand each step to recovery. I want to thank him for changing my life.

Before seeing any medical specialist, it is always preferable to talk to your own family doctor, who can discuss your condition with you and advice on whether any specialist care is appropriate. If it is, he or she can help you to choose the specialist best suited to your needs. Your family doctor can help the specialist to care for you better by providing relevant information about your health. Communicating with the specialist will also enable your family doctor to care for you better during and after your specialist treatment.

During your initial visit, the doctor will explain the specific test or procedure you want, help you visualize the results and go over the risks. He may do a physical examination and ask you a bunch of questions. Once you go and have the test done then he will decide what your diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Most medical specialists will accept only referred patients. This is partly to try to ensure that the specialist you are seeing is appropriate for you and your condition, and also because Medicare pays higher rebates for specialist services if you have been referred.

Your medical file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. Our staffs are bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of employment regarding your medical records. Ordinarily we will not release the contents of your medical file without your consent.

Morbid Obesity is a serious and chronic disease. Treatment is available, and surgery is an extremely viable option for you.

Like every operation, there is a risk. Because our patients already have health-related problems, there is an increased risk of complications. However, our team makes sure the thoroughly screen you to make sure that there are no surprises on the operating table. If we feel that it is not safe to operate on you, we will not proceed. However we will gladly work with you in order for you to be eligible for the operation. Your team will be behind you 100% before, during, and after the surgery.

We strongly recommend for you to not get pregnant during the first year after you’re the operation. Most of the excess weight is lost during this time. Your fetus’ health may also be endangered.

The Enabling Technology – da Vinci® Surgical System with Single-Site™ Technology

The da Vinci Surgical System is designed to overcome the limitations of manual laparoscopy with enhanced capabilities, including high definition 3D vision and a magnified view.

Your doctor controls the da Vinci System, which translates his or her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside your body.

Though it is often called a “robot,” da Vinci cannot act on its own – the surgery is performed entirely by your doctor.

Together, the da Vinci System and Single-Site™ instruments allow your doctor to perform gallbladder surgery through a single incision. As a result, you may be able to get back to your life without the recovery or scars that usually follow major surgery.

The da Vinci System has been used successfully worldwide in hundreds of thousands of procedures to date.

All surgeries, including da Vinci Surgery, involve risk of major complications. Before you decide on surgery, discuss treatment options with your doctor. Understanding the risks of each treatment can help you make the best decision for your situation.
