Patient Testimonials Kelly Ellis

I know this sounds cliche, but Dr. Eslami had not only given me my life back, but given me a whole new life. I’m healthier and more active than I’ve been in the past 20 – 25 years. I think I was in junior high school the last time my waist was this size. It’s exciting to be able to by clothes off the rack and not have to pay a premium for the plus sizes and be able to find stylish clothes that fit and not having to accept things that fit. I have more confidence now which has helped me in my professional life. Instead of going quietly to the back of the room, I’m more outgoing and approachable. I know Dr. Eslami gave me the tools, now I am just using them to better my quaility of life. I would strongly urge anybody that is having health or emotional issues due tho their weight to at least sit down and have a consultation with Dr. Eslami. I would do it again tomorrow. Prior to surgery I heard many horror stories, family and friends tried to discourage me from having the surgery, I am so glad I used my better judgement and had the procedure. It has given me my life back.

SHARON ANDERSON

This is, by far, the hardest lifestyle change I have experienced. I had the Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass. In 18 months, I have lost 112 lbs, no more high blood pressure, GERD, and my thryoid is normal. Meds have pretty much gone by the wayside. Exercise, such as walking up and down stairs are so easy. No more loss of breath. I have experienced a reaction to the protein powders, so I have to rely on my diet to ensure my protein levels. Thanks, Dr. Eslami and staff for all your kind care and understanding, during and after my recovery.

STEVE

I had Gastric bypass surgery on June 27th 2012. My wife Heather had the same surgery 6 weeks prior. I weighed over 270#. I was on cholesterol medications, pre-diabetic and had sleep apnea. Now 6 months and 100# later, I am no longer on meds and I feel great. My wife and I are able to coachboth of our sons soccer teams this year and are looking forward to living the rest of our lives healthier and slimmer.

JANICE LEMBACH

I had the Roux-En-Y gastric bypass on 6/8/11 and at the time I weighed 245 lbs with a BMI of 38. I had diabetes, high cholestrol, and severe arthritis in my knees that I needed a disabled placcard to park. Now, I’m at 145 lbs with a BMI of 23, I’m able to walk 3 miles a day and I’m taking NO medications. Dr. Eslami changed my life with bariatric surgery. The staff and Dr. Eslami are always there to help and I just love them . They saved my life and I will for ever be grateful…. Thank you Dr. Eslami and Staff I am trully blessed that you came in to my life.

STEPHANIE STINSON

Dr. Eslami has given me a life that i thought i could never have. I have been overweight since childhood and never knew what thin was. I continued to struggle with my weight as an adult, and was unsuccessful

at dieting. I had my surgery Aug 3, 2011. I have lost 110 pounds and have been maintaining the loss for the past 18 months! I could have never done it without the support and encouragement from Dr. Eslami and his staff!

LAPAROSCOPIC SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY

Sleeve Gastrectomy (Tube Gastrectomy) procedure involves removing the lateral 2/3rds of the stomach with a stapling device. It can be done laparoscopically ( keyhole surgery) but is not reversible. It basically leaves a stomach tube instead of a stomach sack.

LAPAROSCOPIC GASTRIC BYPASS

In Gastric Bypass procedure, a small stomach pouch is created to restrict food intake. Next, a Y-shaped section of the small intestine is attached to the pouch to allow food to bypass the lower stomach, the duodenum (the first segment of the small intestine), and the first portion of the jejunum (the second segment of the small intestine). This bypass reduces the absorption of nutrients and thereby reduces the calorie intake.

LAPAROSCOPIC ADJUSTABLE GASTRIC BANDING

In Adjustable gastric banding procedure, a hollow band made of special material is placed around the stomach near its upper end, creating a small pouch and a narrow passage into the larger remainder of the stomach. The band is then inflated with a salt solution. It can be tightened or loosened over time to change the size of the passage by increasing or decreasing the amount of salt solution.

LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY

Laparoscopy is commonly performed procedure to Investigate and some key hole surgeries on abdominal and pelvic organs.

Laparoscopy is direct visualization of the abdominal cavity and intra-abdominal organs by using a laparoscopy. The laparoscope is a long thin instrument with a light source at its tip, to light up the inside of the abdomen or pelvis. Fibreoptic fibres carry images from a lens, also at the tip of the instrument, to a video monitor, which the surgeon and other theatre staff can view in real time.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is put into the abdomen through a special needle that is inserted just above the navel. This gas helps to separate the organs inside the abdominal cavity, making it easier for the physician to see the the intra-abdominal organs during laparoscopy. The gas is removed at the end of the procedure.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS SUSAN SUTTON

I gained 80lbs during my pregnancy in my mid 20s and tried every diet and gimmick known to woman-kind, then yoyo’d for years. At 55 I flat gave up and knew I was going to die as a fat person. It took me a year to decide to have bariatric surgery…the deciding factor being that my HbA1C was elevated for the first time in my life. I knew I couldn’t spend what was left of my life like my mother did; diabetic and on dialysis. I met Dr. Eslami and his staff and was immediately sure I was making the right choice. Lynnette helped me breeze through the preliminary red tape of insurance authorizations, Randi schooled me on proper nutrition, and Rhondi emotionally held my hand every step of the way. I felt confident that Dr. Eslami was more than qualified to perform this surgery, and I was not disappointed. I recommend this group to everyone I come into contact with who is considering this life altering surgery. I have never before felt this comfortable in my skin…even though there is quite a bit more of it…and I think I will keep it to remind me from where I traveled.

Before pic is at 235 8 months before surgery. After pic is at 157 8 months after surgery.

SHARI

The surgery has changed my life! I have lost just shy of 100 lbs in less than a year and feel terrific. People that have not seen me in a while don’t recognize me! This past winter, I could out ski anyone down the steepest of mountains…first across the finish line every time! I sleep better than I ever have and wake up feeling energized and exhilarated! Dr. Eslami and his staff were amazing and continue to show complete support throughout my wellness check-ups. I could not have imagined such fulfilling results. If you are over weight and have struggled like I did throughout the years…this is the surgery for you! You will love the new you and the only regret will be that you did not do the surgery sooner.

ANTHONY LERMA

I had the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass in Feb 2012, co-morbidities were Diabetes, Hypertension, and High Cholestrol. My starting weight was 389 lbs. I have lost 156 lbs in 9 months with NO more medical conditions. My wife and I were unable to concieve, but now my wife is 5 months pregnant. I look foward to a happy and healthly life with my family. Thank you to Dr. Eslami and staff for all they have done. Here is a piece of advise, Do Not hesitate to ask questions regarding Bariatric Surgery. Even with the struggles I went thru (gastric bleeding from ulcer due to taking anti-inflammatory medication right after surgery, now I am all healed) I feel GREAT!

JENNIFER

I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy January 16, 2013. Prior to my surgery there was concern about whether surgery was possible due to abdominal scaring and adhesions I had from a birth defect. I appreciate Dr Eslami’s brutal honesty, even on the day of surgery, letting me know that even with all the tests and precautions he couldn’t promise I’d come out of surgery with what I wanted. In the end he was able to safely perform a sleeve.

So far I’ve lost over 65 pounds. I can’t say the road has been easy but the support from Dr Eslami and his staff is always there. Lynette is awesome with helping you navigate insurance and pre-operative stuff. Amanda is very accessible to answer questions. I even texted her while at the grocery store comparing yogurt for my pre-operative diet. I can not say enough about Rondi, the bariatric nurse. She’s a wealth of knowledge and a wonderful cheerleader. She even came to check in on me at the hospital. All of Dr. Eslami’s team are down to earth awesome people. Come to the classes and support group and you’ll get to know them even more.

PEREZ

CYNTHIA

Dr. Eslami and his office saved my life. I was 100 plus pounds over weight and Type 2 diabetic. I had my monument and decided that WLS was the way I would have to go. I also knew better then most people because I am an RN. On May 1, 2013, I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy by the doctor and I have never looked back. I was 310 lbs at the start and as of Jan. 4, 2014 I hit my goal weight of 130 lbs lost. Dr. Eslami and his office have been with me every step of the way.
